We’re back with part two with Kristie Knickerbocker, an SLP and singing voice specialist who has a successful private practice, writes blogs, creates video content, and publishes educational materials for voice clients across the lifespan via a tempo Voice Center.
Kristie initially hoped to turn singing into a career, but she discovered her passion for vocology after needing to seek services for her own voice. Since then, she’s made it her goal to help others with their treatment, working across multiple settings and serving on various committees in the field.
Discussion & Reflection Questions
- What does a day as a voice specialist look like? What etiologies and disorders do you work with?
- What is the cost of a strobe tower? Why might it be worth the investment?
- In your introduction, you use the word “vocologist.” Can you talk, specifically, about what that means?
- You recently created a vocal poster, which you’re having tested. Can you tell us about your poster?
- Working with pediatrics with vocal nodules can be difficult because they have these behaviors. Any suggestions?
