Have you ever felt nervous to speak up at work, to ask questions, or to advocate for yourself or your patients’ wants and needs? If so, you are not alone! Self-advocacy is a challenging and complex skill that requires practice, and it is one that all SLPs should focus on developing in order to find success and fulfillment in their career. In this course, you’ll have the chance to dig into what self-advocacy truly is, as well as learn some of the common roadblocks to doing it effectively (we’ve all been there!). I’ll also share my eight best practices for effective self-advocacy, as well as some tips for strong and assertive communication – all skills that you can take with you and apply right away in your life. You won’t want to miss this chance to build a skill set that can be a game changer in your career!
